Types of LED strips
To date, several types of LED strips are available in the domestic market. They are mainly distinguished by their power, luminescence color, and the number of LEDs used for their production.
As for the cost issue, the variation goes in a wide range. This is due not only to the above reasons. The price of the products is largely reflected in the quality of the components and the complexity of the manufacturing process.
By the color of the glow LED strips are divided into:
- monochrome: depending on the color of the crystal used, the light may be yellow, white (cold or warm), green, red, blue, etc .;
- analog: single color, although this color can be changed with a remote control or DMX;
- digital RGB: using such a tape, you can get any color of the glow.
Today on sale are presented:
SMD3528: In this type, as a rule, cheap low-power diodes are used. Since these LEDs have less power, their light is weaker. They are not able to change the color of their glow, unlike other models. The main colors of the lights in SMD3528 are: white, warm white, blue, green, red and yellow.SMD3528 have an eight-millimeter mounting plate and its dimensions are 3.5 x 2.8 mm.
SMD5050 LED Strip: Compared to 3528, described above, this option has better lighting characteristics and is therefore more expensive. SMD5050 tapes use higher quality diodes that emit bright light. In addition, they are used in them, which makes it possible to adjust the color and intensity of lighting during installation, thereby creating various lighting effects. Even if the SMD5050 is slightly larger than the 3528, it shines about three times brighter.
SMD5060 Flexible LED Strip: This is one of the most powerful options available today. Its design feature is that it combines LEDs of a wide color range, that is, it is multi-color plus it has single-color high-power LEDs of a pleasant white glow.
In addition, all of these types of led strips are made with a different number of diodes per linear meter (30, 60 and 120). This characteristic also greatly influences the power of the emitted light and the price of the product.
