A neighbor immediately ran out, what happened, here's the telegram came, whoa, you got the car, sounded enthusiastic with a slight tinge of envy ... Yes, Yes, Yes-ah !!!
And what was already then a tie, diary and everything else, why and why ??? After all, it became clear that the family had the first new car, straight from the factory in Togliatti. It was a white VAZ 2121 "Niva" in a complete set with a rear window wiper and head light, with beige! (and not black interior, except for the front panel) and the Latin nameplate on the tailgate "NIVA". That was cool! That was a BREAKTHROUGH !!! Happiness and joy knew no bounds ...
Under the then Soviet way of life, the cars in the salons were not bought, they had to be queued “on target checks”, people honestly paid some part of their monthly wages for several years, andin order to stand in this queue, it was necessary to eat a lot of shit with shovels and to lick a lot of people and where. Corruption with bribery and then there were places to be, but all were called in other words.
The absurdity of that time was that money was being spent in every family, every person in the savings bank had a couple of thousand or even more books in the little yellow booklet, but there was nowhere to use them, everything for money or bubble "delicate" or a block of Bulgarian cigarettes.
That year there was an early spring by local standards, and by the end of April all the snow had almost melted, and therefore the “winter road” had melted - the only transport artery connecting the town with the “big mainland”.
And now - the day "D". In the courtyard on April 21, 1991. The time is 5:34. Still dark outside. And suddenly you can hear the car pulling up, the doors are slamming and the conversation of two men is heard. Seryoga, get up, come, go, we will devour and I will take you home. This father came with his friend, who drove the car. And so it was. Both ate, ate a bottle of “delicate”, then there was “Wheat”, Seregu was carried out, and his father went to bed.
The whole family hastily began to gather, who is in kindergarten, who is in school, and who is at work.Pile poured into the yard ... Painting ... Frozen puddles and not fully frozen mud on which you step in and out of it climbs ... The car turned out to be dirty-red-brown-orange with huge icicles in the wings, a huge amount of dirt on the roof and the rear of the car, it turned out to be impossible to look into the salon - everything was done ...
In a word - the car arrived in the last days of the existence of the “Zimnik”, where it was under its own power, where it was on a cable behind the “Ural”. Otherwise it was impossible, by that time the snow-water porridge in some places had already reached a depth of more than 1 meter.
This is how the Niva appeared in our life. The family immediately became "richer." Began fun days of operation and fine-tuning the car for their own needs.
One of the first improvers in 1992 was a design change, or rather a refinement of the design of the mounting of the transfer case, two additional corners were welded to the bottom at the same attachment point and bolted through.
Then, in 1994, the era of hydrocompensators began ... Naturally, everything was new, it was perceived by the public not very, difficult, they say, it is not clear, problems with installation.It is now on the cars of the domestic auto industry, they are put from the factory, but then it was all a wonder.
Somewhere in the first months of 1995, the Niva, the first in the city, had K & K alloy wheels, it was a real cool, it seemed that no one else had it better than our car.
Then went the "Deep" modernization of the heart ... The entire SHPG was replaced, the weight of each piston with the connecting rod brought to a difference of 0.01! gram in one of the local laboratories, replaced oil caps, guides, camshaft and much more ...
Further more - the carburetor, which they just did not have, Ozone (with modifications it is up to date), a converted Solex, single-chamber Weber. With the latest observations, all interesting were, the car could confidently drive at a speed of 10 km / h in 3rd gear for hours, but here 80 km / h was the maximum possible speed value, the more the car just did not drive !!! And by the way the expense, it increased noticeably, the tank was enough for no more than 300 km along the highway.
Ignition system. The song is also separate, now there is a contactless with two coils and a control unit, the piece is good and extremely reliable, even if at least one coil burns, you can continue moving further on 2 cylinders.
Starter.The staffer was repaired twice in 2009 and 2010, the stator winding burned for the first time, the second time the rotor got tired. After that, a new one was purchased with a planetary gearbox, which turned out to be two times lighter and smaller than the standard one, and it works like a foreign car, so quietly, the zhik-zhik and that's it, let's go.
Clutch. Everything was assembled together with the release on Lukas back in 1996, after it was forgotten, only the fluid and the rubber in the working cylinder change.
Shock absorbers. 1993 year. Monroe originals. Made in France. Yellow, stand and work for glory to this day !!! Only RTI is changed. By the way, according to RTI, the whole suspension was rearranged to polyurethane in 2009, I forgot about everything, but the car became tougher, especially noticeable on gravel — it floats even stronger. It is worth noting that the machine is operated both in + 51С0, and in -57 С0 !, and at the same time it goes, and with confidence !!!
Thermostat. I know how to cook soup, and not one, you want Bulgarian, you want Swedish, you want Odessa Deribasovky, Ryazan ??? Boiled, pounded, studied, lay, washed, what other epithets you can pick up - I do not know. In general, I struggled with the temperature regime and this question has not completely closed to the end. No - no, now everything works as in the instructions, the working temperature is 85 C0, but there is no limit to perfection, more on that later.
Generator.I have not replaced this body yet, but only by chance. The new one is already in its second year, waiting for an hour. In my native brushes changed, everything. But 42A was not enough. I will put 73A from injector "classics".
Salon. Body. A separate song. In general, the car completely passed into my hands in 2007. The first thing that was done was a complete repainting, it was white, turned silver. He gutted the whole car, took only the body, however, the engine did not pull it out, drove on a "rag" sitting on a plastic box from under the bottles. And after repainting suffered ... Replaced the ceiling. He took off the old one, made patterns on it and together with his mother sewed a new black leather, fitted the side panels of the front doors to it, cut out the door handles and a cover on the tunnel from the wood, did it for a long time, needed accuracy and accuracy, did not do everything completely, helped by a carpenter.
Replaced the scale of the devices, there also stuck LED lamps and a lot of other things. Then he began to engage in vibration and sound insulation. Again I disassembled the entire cabin, taped the roof, now the snow on it does not melt at all, taped the doors in two layers with vibra and splenium to the music, engine shield and floors. Then, to preserve heat, the plastic was pasted from inside with polyurethane foam. It became much quieter and warmer. Also redid the heating, put the eight-snail, an additional pump from the "Gazelle".It is true that the pump was installed earlier, now it does not seem to be necessary, but I am not going to clean it.
Let it be. In the trunk I made a shelf that opens out of 20 mm plywood and fitted a Carpet. I put the front seats of Nissan Ixtrail, with a regular popogree, right now there is no right, my Daughter was born, it was necessary to carry a carriage, here is its chassis folded up and drove to the right, and the cradle with the baby and mom in the back. Now it seems that you can put it back, but no one needs it, so the right one stands in the garage speckled.
Music. I went to her for a long time. The first time went with the player and the external speaker from the player. Then I bought a tape recorder, 4 speakers and an amp. Life as all goes on, and the car continues to live with me since childhood. Sometimes little thoughts skip over the replacement, but on the other hand, why ??? Yes, and I can not do this, conscience will not allow. I personally like everything in it completely, my family too. I love my Niva, and she seems to me too.
